Andrea Baughan
Nominated by: Buckinghamshire Council
Andrea Baughan was nominated to the Chilterns Conservation Board by Buckinghamshire Council in June 2020. She represents the Micklefield area where they have some beautiful wooded areas, that Andrea enjoys walking in. Her local schools benefit from doing Forest School and it’s wonderful to see the children outside learning and playing in the open air.
She was born in a rural area of Lancashire and moved down to Holmer Green in 1971. She loved that her education and play time involved lots of going out and about collecting sticks and stones, looking at leaves, bark rubbing and also observing the environment around her. Her Guiding unit was often litter picking, they followed the Countryside Code and her Senior School had a dedicated rural studies department with chickens and a vegetable patch.
Andrea went on to work for the National Trust for ten years in the London Head Office and then on the Kingston Lacy Estate in Dorset.
Andrea now lives in East Wycombe with her partner and three children. They are lucky to have a large garden that attracts wildlife due to the proximity to the railway cutting. Green woodpeckers, deer and badgers often visit
