River Chess Discovery Day Family event

Join us for a family fun day launching the new and improved Chess Valley Walk and all things chalk stream!

Families and nature enthusiasts are invited to celebrate the grand opening of the new and improved Chess Valley Walk.

Discover amazing wildlife through a variety of activities and crafts, learn about our rare chalk streams, and experience parts of the new and improved walk for yourself. Day to include:

• River dipping – children can get up close and discover some of the amazing wildlife under the surface of the river
• Chalk Stream craft activities
• Storytime talk
• Refreshments, including ice cream! Bring along a picnic and enjoy relaxing on Chesham Moor

The Chess Valley Walk has recently undergone a revamp, with new

information boards, footpath improvements, new signage and a new Chess Valley Walk logo! The improvements to the walk were funded by the Chalk Streams and Wetlands Meadow project, a partnership project between the Chilterns Conservation Board and the Chiltern Society, funded by the government’s Green Recovery Challenge Fund.
