We are delighted to announce the launch of the Chilterns Buildings Design Awards, which is coming up on the 13th April, 2021. This is when the specific criteria to enter the Awards will be announced alongside the entry requirements and further guidance. We will start accepting nominations from the 13th April until the 31st July, 2021.
The Chilterns Buildings Design Awards is jointly organised by the Chiltern Society and the Chilterns Conservation Board. In previous years, the Awards have focused on celebrating design and construction that positively contributes to the distinctive character of the Chiltern Hills’ environment, with a nod towards sustainable construction. This year, with increased global awareness of climate change and the impact this is having on the nature of the environment, and particularly on biodiversity, we want to recognise designs that make a significant contribution to mitigating and/or adapting to climate change, as well as promoting the local distinctiveness.
We would like to invite builders, designers, and people in the community to be part of the Chilterns Buildings Design Awards and encourage them to celebrate and promote outstanding examples of their winning sustainable building work across the Chilterns. We hope you will consider participation in this year’s awards and find it a positive experience and contribution to the best building scheme in the Chilterns.
The building categories for the Chiltern’s Buildings Design Awards 2021 are listed below:
- Best ‘Green’ Building
- Best Modern Building
- Best Traditional Building
Building schemes eligible for nominations must be within the Chiltern Society area.
We endeavour to ensure that site visits and all the awards related activities will comply with Covid-19 regulations, with priority given to safeguarding applicants health.
Please also keep an eye on the Chiltern Society website for further updates.
If you are interested in learning more about the Awards or are looking forward to getting involved, please contact us at design@chilternsociety.org.uk
