This is a stunning circular route that starts at The Baskerville Arms pub in Shiplake and takes in the Lashbrook and the river Thames.

We follow the public footpath along the towpath as it takes us through some of the interesting and impressive back gardens of lower Shiplake. Then we head past Shiplake Lock and up past Shiplake College and into the beautiful poppy fields of Binfield Heath. We loop back down through the woodlands to the pub to end where we can enjoy lunch and/or refreshments in the pub garden. It’s a 5 mile loop with 1 hill. We can expect to see many boats along the river and an abundance of wildlife including Kingfishers and Cormorants if we are lucky. Walkers can get the train to Shiplake station to start the walk should they wish. There is a car park at the station and a small car park at the pub.
Author and founder of Pause Global Danielle North will be joining Walk Works to conduct an optional guided mediation from her new book “”Walking Meditations””.
